Group Coaching
Collective wisdom. Shared accountability. Lasting change.
Group coaching brings together a small cohort of people facing similar challenges to learn, grow, and support one another through a structured coaching programme.
There's something powerful about discovering you're not alone in your struggles, and even more powerful about learning from others who understand exactly what you're facing.
This Is For You If:
Your organisation wants to support a cohort of emerging leaders, managers, or professionals
You're part of a team that's navigating significant change together
You're a researcher or academic (explore our specialised programme at Your Research Matters)
You want peer support alongside expert coaching
You learn best through conversation, reflection, and shared experience
What Makes Our Group Coaching Different
We're not running training courses. This is genuine coaching in a group setting, which means:
Solution-focused approach: We build on strengths and what's already working, rather than focusing on deficits
Psychological safety: We create spaces where people can be honest about struggles without fear of judgment
Participant-led: The group's real challenges shape each session's focus
Action-oriented: Between sessions, participants experiment with new approaches and report back
Long-term transformation: Our programmes run for 3-6 months to enable deep, sustainable change
How It Works
Typical Programme Structure:
6-10 participants carefully selected for compatibility
90-minute group sessions over 4-6 months
Experienced coaches facilitate each programme
Optional 1-2-1 sessions for individual challenges that arise
Digital community space for ongoing connection between sessions
What Participants Gain:
Clarity about priorities and how to focus energy where it matters most
Confidence through seeing their challenges reflected and overcome by others
Practical strategies developed and tested by the group in real time
Accountability from peers who genuinely care about each other's progress
A support network that often continues long after the programme ends
Our Flagship Programme: Your Research Matters
Since 2022, we've run nine successful cohorts of our community coaching programme for researchers. Over 150 doctoral students, early-career and established researchers have overcome overwhelm, built confidence, and made significant progress on the work that matters most to them.
If you're a researcher, explore this specialised programme at yourresearchmatters.com
What Organisations Tell Us
"The coaches not only normalised struggle whilst acknowledging our systemic blocks, but also empowered us to find agency so that we could achieve our best work without compromising our wellbeing. It was a very different community space than I have experienced elsewhere. The coaches created an inclusive, non-judgemental space where all our voices were valued. The encouragement and belief from the coaches in each of our unique identities helped us to believe in ourselves, get clearer about what we want to do next and work out how to make that happen."
Group Coaching Participant
"Community coaching at Cardiff has offered our colleagues an exceptional developmental opportunity, above all for those unsure of their future in academia. Kate and the team have given our colleagues purposeful and compassionate coaching and support - always sensitive to context and individual circumstances. I highly recommend the programme and the team!"
Professor Claire Gorarra, Dean of College of Arts and Humanities, Cardiff University
“With 50 academic participants across all career stages, the team skilfully facilitated the sharing of experiences, research insights, and practical tips in a coherent and thoughtful 6-month programme that was powerful and productive for all participants. The team adapted the programme in response to the needs of the group, and the programme’s benefits for marginalised and disadvantaged members of our community were especially profound. We continue to see the benefits for staff confidence, engagement and wellbeing extend across our research community, and would highly recommend this programme.”
Professor Emma Carmel, Associate Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Bath
